Salut, toi.

Welcome to my kitchen 👋🏾

Cooking in my tiny Montmartre kitchen

I landed in Paris over ten years ago, back in 2013 to be exact, all in the name of amour. Long story short, the whole marriage and husband thing didn't pan out. But Paris did! I was stuck with her and her with me. Blah, blah, blah. If you're curious about the nitty-gritty, I spilled (almost) all the tea in my podcast and book.

I know what you’re probably thinking, “Okay…and what does that have to do with cooking and food?"

Dinner chez moi

When my world was caving in on itself, I found solace in cooking and, to my surprise, embarked on an exciting, fulfilling, and life-affirming culinary journey. But I recently realized that I’ve allowed the backstory of divorce to overshadow my gastronomic adventures and learnings for too long. I mean, sure, divorce is a part of my story, but it's not the whole kit and kaboodle. There's more to me than being just another divorcée navigating life in Paris. The beauty of the passage of time allows memories to fade, circumstances to change, and enough space for new stories to be written.

That said, I still live in the best arrondissement and love it (most days),  I’m still cooking dinner for one (mostly). But this marks my attempt at shifting away from dwelling on the past and choosing to dig into something else.

As the next chapter of my life in this city unfolds, what’s my Paris story without the divorce subplot? Is it even worth sharing?

Well, that’s what we’ll discover together in Kitchen Stories. Twice a month, from the heart of a little kitchen in one of the world's most beautiful cities, you’ll get little notes with recipes, musings about life and cooking in Paris, bits and bobs about what I’m eating and where, (maybe even super confidential info about who I’m eating with (wink wink, oh la la) ) as I embark on the second half of my Paris adventure.
